Sixth Street Youth Program
Director of Community Programs: Jen Chantrtanapichate
Grades: 4th - 8th
Our after school program, Sixth Street Youth Program will expand to serve students in grades 4 through 8, and will offer daily homework support as well as on site tutoring. Similar to the summer program, our after school will be very low-cost, with a sliding-scale or free tuition for families that qualify. All families are encouraged to sign-up regardless of ability to pay. Each day after homework and tutoring, we will be offering a daily enrichment workshop in art, creative writing, expressive movement or urban gardening.
Whole Child is a parent group that meets monthly to address social, emotional and academic concerns, including special education needs. Twice exceptional (2e) children are both gifted academically and also have learning challenges. Certain learning challenges benefit from special education services, which kids are entitled to receive and are provided by the DOE/NEST+m. Whole Child meets on the third Thursday of the month in the cafeteria at 8:30 a.m. Please join WholeChild@googlegroups.com to keep up-to-date with meetings and events.
